2019 JAMB CAPS: JAMB CAPS Admission Status

Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (BOARD) has decided to restructure Higher Institution admission process in Nigeria through the introduction of Central Admissions Processing Systems (CAPS).

Before the introduction of Central Admissions Processing Systems (CAPS) admission process in Higher Institutions in Nigeria were not harmonized. you could found a student having admission into three (3) different Higher institution. At the end of the day, the student will accept one (1) of the admission leaving out the remaining two while also denying other students who should have taken up the other two slots.

Secondly, admission into various higher institutions within the country where not done simultaneously but with the introduction of  Central Admissions Processing Systems (CAPS) admission became harmonized.


What is the meaning of JAMB CAPS

JAMB CAPS is Central Admissions Processing Systems that allows Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates to shop for admission into various higher institution within the country. Candidates are meant to accept admission or decline admission on the jamb caps website which can be reached through this link JAMB CAPS portal


JAMB CAPS admission status

Checking JAMB CAPS admission status can be achieved by visiting JAMB CAPS portal through this link  JAMB CAPS login. Once you are on the JAMB CAPS portal, follow these steps to confirm your admission status.

  1. Key in your username and password to login to your profile.
  2. If your login is successful, scroll down the page to locate Check Admission Status tab
  3. The next step, will be to select Registration Number and Exam Year 
  4. Lastly, you are required to click on Check Admission Status button to confirm your admission status.


If your admission status is successful, you are required to accept or reject the. If you accept the admission, JAMB CAPS will start processing the admission for you. The next thing to discuss is how to accept JAMB CAPS admission.


JAMB CAPS accept admission

To accept JAMB CAPS admission, you are required to visit JAMB CAPS portal login through JAMB CAPS login. Once you are on the JAMB portal, follow these steps to accept your admission status.

  1. Key in your Email Address and Password to login to your profile.
  2. If your login is successful,  locate Check 2019 UTME/DE Admission Status tab and click in it.
  3. The next step, will be to select Admission Status on the left panel of the portal
  4. Next, you are required to click on Search button which is in front of your Registration Number to load your profile.
  5. In your profile page, you retain the right to accept or decline the admission.


At this point you are home and dried. you are done with the processes of checking admission status and accepting or rejecting admission. If you accepts the admission, one more step for you to conclude. This step, is to print your admission letter.


How to Print JAMB CAPS admission Letter

To print JAMB CAPS Admission Letter, you are required to visit JAMB portal through this link JAMB website. Once you are on the JAMB portal, follow these steps to print your Admission Letter.

     1. Key in your Email Address and Password to login.

     2. If your login is successful,  locate and click on Admission Letter tab.

     3. You are required to make payment of one thousand naira (N1,000) before printing the Admission Letter.
